PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, Sept. 13, 1983 -- 21 Ball season ends (From page 20) Fortunately, Dave Ballingall, who had um- pired each and every game was on hand to receive a big, well deserved hand from all the players. Dave talked about our seniors play and added that for some of the players who will be over age next year, Port Perry could use some in- terested youth to learn umpiring. This could be a good way to carry on with ball. Alot of people have put a lot of work into this past season, startaing last March. We do not have the room to thank everyone, however, a few deserve a mention for their long hours of in- volvement. Vern Vogel, Sharon Stapleton, and Ed Brown made my task much smaller. All of the coaches, scorekeepers, umpires and sponsors have the executive's deepest appreciation for putting their efforts into another successful season. When I took this position, I had three LADIES WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON BOWLING Team Standings: Sweet Maries - 7; Kit Kats - 7; Coffee Crisps - 7; Almond Joys - 0 ' Milky Ways - o; O'Henrys - 0. The young people of our area would have fun through the summer; 2. They would learn the basics of softball; and 3. They would be involved in a team sport which would develop them as in- dividuals and as team members. I feel we have met those objectives.
