Jan. 14 the Lions Club of Port Perry hosted their annual Petite-Junior Ringette Tournament. In the Petite division there were Stayner, Rich- mond Hill, Kingstén Township and Port Perry. In the first game of the day the Port Perry Bruton's IDA Petites met Richmond Hill and were successful in beat- Port Perry ing them by a score of 6-5. Port was down by 2 goals before Misty Andrews from Lisa Levy and Amy Parlia- ment scored our first goal. Lisa from Misty and Christine Mueller tied up the game and then Lisa from Misty and Kim Poppleton put us ahead. Richmond Hill tied the score just before the end of the first period. They went ahead, and then Misty from Kim tied the score. With only a minute left in the game, Misty from Lisa put us in the lead for the final time. Richmond Hill continually checked throughout this whole game and it proved to be an exciting game to watch. In the second petite game Kingston Town- ship beat Stayner by a score of 12-0. In our second game of the day, we met Kings- ton Township and were beaten by a score of 12-2. This was a very strong team. Our girls played a very strong game in the first period allowing them to score only 2 goals. The girls continued their fine play and Misty from Lisa finally was able to put us on the scoreboard. Nicole Slack unassisted, was our final scorer for the day. The girls should all be proud of their play as we are the only team to score any goa against this team in at least two different tournaments. Losing this game knocked us out of the championship game. In the fourth petite game of the day, Rich- mond Hill beat Stayner and then went on to meet Kingston Town- ship in the Champion- ship game but were beaten out by this powerful team.
