Brooklin PC association lacks executive Yes, but can you type? Is there anyone out there who wants a secretarial job? Or has anyone ever held 'a secret wish to be a second vice-president? If so, the Brooklin Progressive Conser- vative Association could use their help. At last Wednesday night's annual meeting, the association attempted to elect a 1984 slate of officers but only succeeded in electing a president, Barbara Parrinder, a vice- president, Gary Young and a treasurer, Bruce Bagg. All three were acclaimed but organ- izers couldn't get any- one present to volunteer for the first vice- president or the secre- tary posts. Finally, the executive was granted the power to appoint persons to the empty seats, although no one was appointed that night. The Honourable George Ashe, MPP, was the guest speaker for the evening, which was well-attended despite bitterly cold weather. But the Brooklin Comm- unity Centre soon warmed up as Mr. Ashe joked about and serious ly discussed several political matters with his audience. : "I think all in all we've (the provincial PC's) done pretty well in leading this province in the last 40 years,' he said.
