The GMC truck will be taking part in the Port Perry and Oshawa area's business communities as the newest member of Goreski's Roofing & Insulation. HN The Goreski's took delivery of their brand new '84 GMC 1/2 ton pick-up just after Christmas and were delighted to share in the celebration of this sales achievement with the folks at Philp Pontiac Buick Ltd. It was double cause for celebration as it was also Gene Hurst's "100th Vehicle Sale" since joining the Philp sales force just last year. Philp Pontiac Buick has come a long way since the opening of their business on Water Street, Port Perry in 1976. Large scale expansion and modernization saw Philp's relocation, along with VanCamp Contrac- ting and Lake Scugog Lumber, to Vanedward Drive in 1979. The management and staff express very special thanks and congratulations to Ken & Dianne Goreski. "May you enjoy many years of safe and happy driving." And thanks to all our friends and customers for your dedication and for helping us to see the realization of this important sales goal. We're very glad to be a part of Port Perry's business community. & BEITE BP J PONTIAC BUICK LIMITED fr To the District Real Estate Board Crowell name On Thursday, January 19, 1984, Cliff Crowell of George Stone Real Estate Limited was in- stalled as the 1st Vice President of the Oshawa & District Real Estate Board. Recognizing the obvious contribution, that Cliff has made to Real Estate over his past two years as a Director on the Oshawa & District Real Estate Board, the members have promoted him to the "Number Two' position. "I'll try harder!" laughed Cliff. 'My big in- ~ terests are profes- sionalism, service to the public and community involvement," says Cliff. "I have been involved with the MLS Computer System for the past two years and I am convinc- ed that it is the very best way to assist the public in buying and selling homes. I continue to be eager to serve on this board because I realize that it is composed of sales people and brokers who want to do the very best they can in serving their customers. The computer is one way to achieve this service." Cliff joined eleven other Real Estate prac- tionioners on the ODREB Board. Anita Witty of Ajax, the incoming President, stressed educ- tion and communication with the public as two of her prime goals for the 1984 year. (She and Cliff should get along well -- He is currently enrolled in an education course.) das V-P CLIFF CROWELL News from the halls of PPHS The reports soon here by Sherrie Casteels Welcome back Rebels! To all of the dedicated readers of our column, no we have not all quit school. After taking a break for a couple of weeks during the Christmas holidays, we never quite got back into the swing of things. Anyway, PPHS News will be in the paper each week from now through until June. The last week and a half has been torture for most of us. As many already know, it was "cram" city last week as we studied furiously for exams, (I might add that many of us went for a week without sleep). But Rebels, you can fin- ally sign with relief and either turn on the tube or crank up the volume on the stereo because January exams are over with for another year. I hope, though, that everybody had a super weekend because after getting back exams, your week may not be so great. I might also point out, Rebels, that we are now more than half way through the school year! So let's all work hard and participate lots because it will be June before we know it. Well, that's about all I have to say just now, other than that all school activities will soon be back on sche- dule, as will the late buses. So until next week, everybody! And remember, "If you're bored or have the blues, Pick up the Star and read PPHS News!"
