Winter camping skills consisted of star- gazing - singing - story telling and a woodsman badge. Training kept the boys busy. Socializing Grahame and Neta Fish, Nestleton, had an enjoyable visit recently with her daughter Jim and Audrey Leishman, Michael, Jamie and W.D. of Reaboro. This past week they were babysitters with grand- children Chad and Craig Holland of Bowman- ville, while mother Yvonne attended a meeting. Great to see Curtis Cawker and friend Rob Smith of Oshawa, at the Cawker farm over the weekend taking a tour around the area on their snowmobiles. They also tried the pursuit of ice fishing, but all to no avail - the wary fish had other plans. Marion will soon be back at home base after recuperating at the home of her son, Thos. Kathleen, James and John. Bill and Mildred Fortune, Road 57, Blacksto had a delightful two weeks holiday !in Mexico recently staying at Girasolsur - a well known holiday spot and growing rapidly. They enjoyed the ideal weather, warmth of the water, and topped off with excellent food. All in all, a great winter break! Saturday night supper guests with Grahame and Neta Fish, Nestle ton were Dan and Faye Corby and Paul of Blackstock - a birthday celebration for Faye. Our best wishes! On Sunday Grahame and Neta had supper with Calvin and Yvonne Holland of Bowman- ville. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Malcolm, Mr. Mrs. Glenn Malcolm and family and Mr. and Mrs. David Malcolm and family, Nestleton, attended service at St. Timothy Presbyterian Church at Ajax on Sun- day morning when Lisa Michelle, daughter of Dennis and Laina Malcolm of Ajax was baptized. Following the service they all enjoyed a sumptuous buffet dinner at the Malcolm Rn, ymin nnn home at Chamberlain Snowarama Many from this area attended the annua] Snowarama for Timmy held in Port Perry this past Sunday - which was a successful event with 167 riders, a little down from last year, but he official total is some- where between $21,000- $25,000. The organizers with Dave Ballingall at the head hoped to raise more than "$35,000 for crippled children at the event. However, we do congratulate Dave and the committee for a fine endeavour! Fire Victims Helped For Don and Valerie McGarvey, Patricia and Lonny, the people of this community of Cart- wright and those some distance away have been most helpful since the tragic fire, Wed. Jan. 4th. Donations are still coming in and they need much more before they can commence re- building again. They plan to locate on the same site. The fund is growing steadily under the careful supervision of Moiria Fallis, Cad- mus. Anyone wishing to help out should get in contact with Moria phone 986-5147. i
