That's Mike Andrews (left) of Port Perry hoping that Pickering goalie Chris Valade would sur- render a rebound, but not this time. Valade was named the tournament MVP. Menzies figured on the assists. Shortly after that Alliston was award- ed a penalty shot and Shawn Larocque stood his ground and stoned their shooter and you could sense on the bench that the kids realized if they kept up the hard work it would pay off. Mark Andrews scored next on a Mike Feasby rebound and Port never let up. With a minute and a half left in the second period, Mike Feasby barged through the defence and fired Port's third goal to open the gap to 3 to 0. Alliston finally got on the board with 2:34 left in the game and they just kept coming at us but with their goalie yanked and the extra attacker Jason Cochrane picked up a pass from Dan Sluggett and fired it into the empty net to seal the 4 to 1 victory. Again the turning point had to be a fantastic stop Shawn made on the penalty shot. GAME THREE The championship game matched the Pick- ering Association Club against Port and what a battle. Carey Labiuk tended the net in this one and was great con- sidering he was suffer- ing from the flu as were a couple of other kids on the team. Pickering scored at the 6:35 mark of the first period but thats all they would get. Port Perry kept attack- ing and shooting but the Pickering goalie was stoning Port time and time again. As a matter of fact his great goal- tending earned him the M.V.P. award in the game. With 13 seconds left in regulation time and Port all over the Pickering zone, Jason Cochrane slipped a beautiful shot to Jan Heyes in the slot and Jan fired home the tying goal in the lower left hand corner of the net and boy was he ever popular in town. They finished off the 13 seconds and grabbed a breather and lined up again for the sudden death overtime only now they would play minus the net minders. With the score tied 1 to 1, it only took 28 seconds into the overtime and there he was again, big No.9, Jari Heyes as he crossed over the blue line and fired a low shot that was redirected by a (Turn to page 21)
