Since* it is Daffodil month, Marian Irwi: of the Cancer Society was in- vited to come to be the guest for the evening. Marian showed a very _ informative film called "Wild Cells' which showed how good and bad cells work in our body. It also gave much information, such as what we should eat, stating that cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts and cauliflower contains Vitamin A, which now is believed to help prevent cancer. She stated that thirty-two thousand peo- ple were helped by the Cancer Society in On- tario last year. A new stove for the kit- chen, purchased by the Guild was used for the first time that night, and a social time was spent over lunctr. The Ashburn group of Womens Missionary Society met last Wednes- day evening at the home of Ray Death. The Vice-president, Rose ieron conducted the meeting and began with a spring poem. Catherine Humphrey gave a lovely opening worship service about "Worship." Ruth Agar led in prayer. The study was given by Muriel Fisher, which was a continuation on the parables. Particularly on the one in St. Matthew 21. Muriel bought out many helpful thoughts, proving that if we study the parables of Jesus, we can see ourselves in them. It was good to have the president Ber- nice Gardner out again, after a bout of illness. The Spring Thank Of- fering of the W.M.S. will be held on Sunday morn- ing, April 20th, at 11:15 - when Margaret Stewart, Missionary Nurse, work- ing with Leprosy victims at Papuz, New Guinea. The Ashburn W.M SS. men and women are in- vited to go to Uxbridge to attend their Easter Thank Offering Service on Sunday evening on April 15th, at 7 p.m. Rev. Vanderzwan will be the speaker. There were seven tables of euchre at the party in the Community Centre, last Thursday evening. Dr. George in charge of Burns Church Service. His message was taken from St. Matthews Gospel and titled "The Power of Hope." The, responsive Psalm was led by Art Oliver and the scripture lesson was read by Ruth' Oliver. The choir sang the anthem "When We See Christ.' In. the absence of the organist, Arnold Ashton, Rita Davidchuck presided at the organ. Two lovely new living plants were an addition to the front of Rev. Moore will be with us again next Sun- day, while Rev.
