Church auditorium turns into garden for '"Swing into Spring' fashions Spring came to Port Perry on Wednesday evening, April 4 when the United Church Women presented a "Swing into Spring" Fashion Show. The stage of the auditorium was trans- formed into a Spring garden with sprays of flowers and wicker furn- iture from 'Personal Touch' and drapes from 'Modern Textiles' while pots of flowers bloomed on the tables throughout the room. ] Irwin Smith provided a musical background while he serenaded the models, and entertained the capacity crowd. Pint-sized beauties led the parade sporting play outfits, rain wear and party dresses from Brock's Department Store. T. e audience was treated to a close view of the fashions as the models made their way down from the stage and among the tables. Brock's also presented a variety of stylish bathing suits and up-to- the-minute sportswear and Spring coats. Dor-Jean Fashions showed us smart suits and elegant dresses for all occasions, often com- plimented by glamorous hats and accessories. Dor-Jean also presented a wide range of colour- ful sportswear and swimwear as well as diaphanous lingerie and peignoir sets. While we were imagining our- selves looking as trim and elegant as the models, we were served an array of delectables, calorie-rich desserts. Joan Lane expressed the appreciation of the U.C.W. to all who had contributed to make the evening such a success. With Spring, comes showers and rain was gently falling as we left the church with dreams of a new Easter ward- robe in our imagination. HOME OWNERS news you have been waiting for LANDSCAPING ...
