Items before the Executive Board includ- ed: 1. The completion of a First Aid Kit which would be available for use on all school trips. 2. 100 students were at the Leslie M. Frost Centre in Dorset in April and some students were scheduled to leave on a trip to Quebec. 3. Down's topic at May 8 meeting The Durham Down's Syndrome Association will meet on Tuesday, May 8th at 7:30 P.M."in the Program Room of the Whitby Public Library. At 8:00 P.M. the guest speaker will be Carol Meehan, principal of Lord Durham Element- ary School in Ajax. She will talk about the integration of develop mentally handicapped children into the regular school, a program which has been success- ful at Lord Durham for several years. From 7:30-8:00 P.M. there will be an in- formal information exchange on any topic related to Down's Syn- drome. The school is going to get typewriter tables for the computers. 8. The principal, Mr. Harry Kiezebrink, reported that the School Board Superintendent is now working on a new policy for the emer- gency closing of schools. The temporary. policy in effect now is that the principals of the area schools (Cartwright, Greenbank, Epsom, Prince Albert and Port Perry) make a joint decision. 9. The school has made a request for additional a School gymnastics team recently took part in an area meet and the Durham Region finals held at Brock High School.
