We- in this area (Nestleton-Caesarea) do warmly appreciate the courteous, friendly reception received from the donors- and the con- cern of those who gave so generously to the cause. We thank one and all most sincerely. Also- to our fine girls who were willing volunteers- our warmest thanks! We have had a strong cam- paign and Cancer can be beaten - we are assured of that! = News of Families Mrs. Minnie Fisher, Caesarea, and Mrs. Ruth Fisher, Scarborough, spent an enjoyable Easter in Hawaii - stay- ing for a two week period. They left by plane from Toronto, April 12, and while in Hawaii they stayed at the lovely Outrigger West Hotel in Honolulu. A Polynesian dinner - outdoor theatre and culture show was of in- terest. Tours were taken to Pearl Harbour, sugar cane and pineapple fields as well as plantations. They flew to Mauri Island to view the dead volcano. Weather was rainy at first but when the sun came out it was beautiful with the odd rainbow. The Hawaiian's WY eC have lovely homes and food was excellent with plent of variety. They ar- rived home on Friday last, April 27 - we welcome Ruth and Min- nie back after a most in- teresting trip - a nice change of pace! On Sunday, Don and Norma Frew, Nestleton, ""hosted" their im- mediate family for Easter dinner with 21 present. Those on hand for the celebration were: David and Leah Few and family; Nancy and Gary Edgar and family; Valerie and Paul Mappin and family; and Alan and Judy Frew and family. Roy and Doris Not- tingham, Caesarea, en- joyed Easter with Greg and Nancy Nottingham, Reid and Adam in Sunderland. On Good Friday, Mr. and Mrs. George Bray of Fairview Lodge were honoured by their family on their 67th wedding an- niversary. Many family members were present for this wonderful occa- sion - a real milestone in their lives. Roy and Doris Nottingham of Caesarea were on hand to help her parents celebrate. The Sam Cawkers, Scugog Point Road, at- tended the 50th wedding anniversary celebration of friends, George and Della Skerratt of Port Perry, on Saturday afternoon held in the Port Perry Curling Club with a splendid number of relatives and friends .on hand to make it a great day. Later in the day - Sam and Mabel were in Peterborough to help celebrate the 50th wedding annive sary of old friends - Ciarence and Helen Mann. The festivities were held in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church Hall with a large attendance. Our "very best wishes' to these two fine couples for many more celebrations. Fred Swann delivered an ex- cellent sermon taking his text from 1st Corinthias- verse 15- the theme being "The Importance of the Resurrection," asking the question- What would it have been like if Christ had not risen from the dead? - the answer from verse 20- "Now is Christ risen from the dead and become the first fruits of them that slept." Service next Sunday at 10 a.m . The service at Nestleton United was well attended for the Sacrament of Baptism. Members were pleased to welcome into the Church family by bap- tism: Angela Christina, daughter of Tena and Don Jenkins, View Lake, and Richard Dwayne, son of Joyce and Rick Johns of Nestleton. The Sunday School with their teachers were upstairs for the baptismal service and the minister Rev. Dale Davis presented to the children - and to the congregation - thoughts re- Christian initiation in- to the United Church - ex- plaining the meaning of baptism, etc. A very im- pressive sermon! A quartet composed of Heather and Alison Malcolm and Kinglsey and Joshua Malcolm sang two little numbers unaccompanied and led by Arlene Malcolm. Get Well Wishes Very pleased to know that Mrs. Helen Moore of Nestleton is coming along well in Wellesley Hospital, since back surgery some three weeks ago.
