Ham supper very nice Epsom Area News By Jean Jeffery On Tuesday evening there was a beautiful "baby shower at the home of Mrs. Faye Ashton in honour of Kelly Lee-Anne Hill, wee daughter of Gerald and Nancy Hill. On Sat. Mrs. Baster was hostess for a shower for Miss Marg- aret Taylor. Margaret's sister Ruth had just arrived home that morning from spending eight months in New Zealand ' and after thirty-six hours travel was just too tired to attend the party. Happy Birthday to Amy and Tricia Postma who celebrated their birthdays this month. Their Grandmother and Grandfather Mound visited them and their parents one day last » week. Birthday greetings to Marion Barnett, Paul and Shirley Baster, Darlene Begin, Don and Gail Prentice and High wind put us in the dark Those powerful winds which hit Scugog Town- ship Monday afternoon caused a power failure which lasted about an hour for most areas in Port Perry, and to the west of the community. Shops and businesses in the downtown area had to shut down until power was restored. Although there was some minor damage to power lines in Port Perry, officials with Scugog Hydro said the cause of the failure was damage to a main line south of the community. Work crews with Ont- ario Hydro restored power in a little over an hour. remember when ...? Yvonne Noble joined Jack and Marion Barett at Emiels in Port Perry to celebrate the occasion. Many relatives in the area attended the wedd- ing of Miss Mary Evans "of Uxbridge and Mr. Tim Dickau. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Barker from Edmonton were overnight guests with Doug and Beth Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Dickau of Ed- ' monton were weekend guests with Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wilson. Faye Ashton was very pleased to welcome the many guests who called to see her after her knee operations. Faye is really getting around quite well with the aid of her crutches. After church a week ago, Don and Stella Asling, Dr. Pat Asling and Ivan Clarke paid an overnight visit to Dr. Jerrold Asling, Joan and family of Hanover. This Sunday Don Asling took Sunday Service at Zephyr and Sandford. Then had lunch with Pat and Ivan. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Kick were also guests. The Ham Supper served by our Youth Group on Friday evening was really delicious. The cake and ice cream was "tops" too. The boys are to be complimented on their efficient service.
