A dm SORA EE kon Li Dl ali RG a Rs tind i Sl crs lt Church sign dedicated in Myrtle It was a memorable occasion on Sunday, April 22 at Myrtle Unit- ed Church. The aroma of "ham and eggs' greeted the early-risers arriving for the Annual Easter Breakfast at 9:30 A.M. In the kitchen, Mary Housego and her assist- ants had been busy since early dawn scrambling eggs, cook ing ham, making toast, hot chocolate and coffee. More tables were set as this was the biggest crowd ever! Even the tiny babies seemed to be enjoying the "celebra- tion!" It was good to welcome back former residents of Myrtle; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Timms, Mr. Lorne Johnson, Mr. Elmer Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Downey and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Downey. Following the Break- fast, everyone gathered outside the church for the dedication of the new sign, donated by Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Nottingham and family. God bless you Stan and Ethel! The sun shone warmly as Mr. Fred Walker, the minister at Myrtle, and Rev. Wm. Piercey of Oshawa conducted the dedication service. Board Members Mr. Jim Housego and Mr. Jerry Stachow nailed the brass plaque to the sign reading: The Song is Gone, but the Melody Lingers on'.
