Former students and staff from many places in Ontario, including- London, Kit- chener, Brantford, Chesterville, Peter- borough and many others along with a large number of local friends filled the gymnasium to capacity on Sunday afternoon. A programme, with Harvey Graham as Master of Ceremonies, brought tributes from many areas. Ruth Lafarga, Chairman of Durham Board of Education offered her congratulations and brought best wishes from the Board. Area Superintendent- Bill Fairburn, brought a message of personal esteem and best wishes. Trustee for Scugog- Rev. Stuart McEntyre paid tribute to Mr. Paisley for his fine work in C.H.S. as well as for best wishes. Jerry Taylor, Mayor of Scugog brought con- gratulatory greetings from the Township Coun- cil and presented Gordon with a plaque honouring him for his great achievements. In- terspersed with these speakers were several other items. The staff presented an original poem by Mrs. M. Van Camp entitled "Gord's Song' after which they presented Mr. Paisley with an engraved Brass School Bell. The School Choir under the direction of Mr. R. 'shton sang two numbers. Ralph De- Jong representing the students gave a Parady on Shakespeare honour- ing his principal. A duet by Lynn McLaughlin and Craig Paisley, Gordon's son concluded this sec- tion of the programme. A smaller portrait was also presented to Gordon. The gift of apprecia- tion from the community was a beautiful Pen and Ink drawing of Cart- wright High School done by local artist- Sandra Thompson and was presented to Gordon by * Sandra and Harvey. Most of these relatives are from his home town of Dunnville. Mrs. Robert Paisley and Mrs. Putman had spent several days with Gord and family last week prior to Sunday's activities. The Annual C.H.S. At Home was held on Satur- day evening at the C.C.P.S. gymnasium. Although the numbers attending were not as large as hoped, those who were in attendance had a fine time. During the evening, the new Queen and her Princesses were crown- ed. Norma Jean Newbold, was crowned by last year's Queen- Marilyn Green. Her princesses are- Vanessa Lewerentz and Angela Duivesteyn. On Sunday morning, the Blackstock Sunday School held Anniversary Services at the regular time. The Sunday School students according to long tradition filled the choir loft and presented several fine numbers. The Call to Worship was given by Jennifer and Linda Fletcher.
