A hearty welcome was given by the Presi- dent Ken Brown, and the meeting was opened with 'O Canada'. To get everyone mix- ed up and friendly the president had prepared a floral cross word puzzle and the winning group and the lowest group each received a box of spring plants. Mel Hundert of Whit- by was the program guest, and he very ably prepared a dinner using herbs to improve the taste of the dishes he prepared. He also gave. many tips on using Herbs. Everyone got to taste the goodies and agreed it was delicious. "The flower show of tulips and other arr- angements was beauti- ful. There were 159 entries. Minnie Pearl alias Muriel Fisher welcomed everyone and while a lovely tea and goodies were being enjoyed, the hat show was going on around the tables. Betty Jean Blyth, with her usual humour, was the com- mentator and the lovely models wore hats of every description. A very lovely part of the afternoon was the flower arranging by Joan Brack. She did four beautiful arrange- ments and they were won by a draw by Joan - Fleming, Joan Knight Willie Nesbitt and Ruby Bryant. There are lots of interesting things being planned by the Kirk Guild for the fall so watch for more news later about it.
