Fair board official Jack Woodward says nearly 30,000 men, women and children converged on the village to attend the 73rd annual fair which feat- ured something for everybody. The crowning of Miss Brooklin Fair, 17 year old Anne Halsey, start- ed the gala festivities off with a bang Thursday night and the fun con- tinued all weekend long with horses, midway, beer tent, tractors, pet shows, baby shows, Hells Drivers, Bill John- son's country music, cattle, pancakes, candy floss, goats, sheep, steam engines and harness racing. And what a weekend it was. "We really don't have any big features like you do in Port Perry", : Woodward yk "There's about 10 top- notch events, like the biggest sheep show in Ontario. It was a great weekend, weather-wise and all-round'. And when Monday morning rolled around, the fair board was already planning next year's big event.
