22 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, July 24, 1984 Hands needed for paint Utica & Area News by Vera Brown Church service this week will be held at 9:30 a.m. in Epsom Church. I'm issuing a plea for help from the neigh- bours interested in spending an hour or-two helping to paint etc. at the Church. A few people have been out to help but time is speed- ing by and if we can't get more volunteers then the work will have to be completed by professionals and that takes money. The last euchre of the season was held in Utica Hall on Friday evening with winners as follows: Ladies' 1st to Dora Geer, 2nd Bea Harrison and low Ruby Johnson. Mens 1st Harold Cor- nish, 2nd Irwin Kydd and low Joe McCaslin. Freeze-out winners were Carolyn Parish and Bruce Houghland, | Mary Cannon and Carol- ine Haugh were second. The Browns attended the wedding of Frank Andrew of R.R. 1, Port Perry doesn't have a lot of acreage fo hay, but he has found a way that is quicker and easier for himself when he is alone. The large round bales (top) weigh bet- ween 800-900 Ibs. each and contain the equivalent of about 15 small bales when rolled. Frank, who has been farming since 1946, finds that he can handle bringing in the hay much easier with his loader, than the conventional way. Mr. Andrews has about 30 acres of hay which will be enough feed for his cattle over the winter. Don't everyone call her up to borrow money, it was only $30.00 so I'm sure its all gone by now. The Croxall girls, Julia and Sarah spent a week in Haliburton with the Girl Guides at Camp Adelaide.
