'""We are getting a much better welcoming than in either of the last two elections," as people are indicating it is time for a change"', he said. Mr. Lawrence ex- plained that although they were not having a lot of small receptions throughout the riding this year, everyone was invited to attend the Barbeque to be held at Devil's Elbow on Wed- nesday, August 29. In talking about local issues, Mr. Lawrence said that he was com- pletely frustrated with his efforts to get some- thing done with the weed situation in Lake Scugog. "Not only is the lake stagnating, but the Lib- eral government is stag- nating", he said. 'I have never heard so many people say they don't know what to do about the problem". He said that as an MP he is very frustrated Allan Lawrence predic ts better days be that nothing is being done to rectify the problem. "Things have got to change. You all deserve a full dollars value for every dollar the govern- ment spends", said Mr. Lawrence. "But you are not getting it". Mr. Lawrence had high praise for the Conservative leader, Brian Mulroney. '"'Mul- roney has welded the party together as a team, and if he can do that, he can do the same for this great country Canada'. He went on to say that it was time for a clean-sweep in the government, and the NDP were not the answer. "If 'you want a real change, the Mulroney Team can bring this country back on the rails again", he said. In closing his remarks, Mr. Lawrence said "we are on the verge of great days and great times in this country under the leadership of Brian Mul- roney. He will be one of the best Prime Minis- ters this country has ever known." "We are on the verge of a majority Conserva- tive Government". WILL YOU BE AWAY ON ELECTION DAY?
