Bill Sandiford caught 3 pop flys for Judy's Pizza Pack. Denise McGrisk- en had good hits for Brutons and Paul Linton had a night of good fielding. Sportsland beat Brian's Towing in the last inning 24-19. Chad Murphy hit the winning run while Ross Stainton was Sportsland's hot fielder. D) DURHAM HOLIDAY CLOSURE OF SANITARY LANDFILL SITE In a well played game up in Greenbank be- tween Home Hardware and the Greenbank team, the score does not indicate how close the game really was. Both teams played very well with the last third of the game giving Home Hardware a 12-1 win. Heather Vale and Mike Smith along with their team-mates made excellent fielding plays. The Home Hardware team got excellent hitt- ing from Danny Wood, Kevin Stewart and Tracy Stell at key times during the game. The rest of the team also contributed with good fielding. Aug. 20 Brian's Towing finish- ed up their season with a 17-14 win over Port Perry Travel. Steven McDonald and Todd Langley both had good hits for the Brian's Towing team. The John- son brothers, Mark and Kevin, both had home runs for Port Perry Travel. Kim Oke was good with her glove while playing shortstop. Ladies golfing results On Tuesday August 21, the Pine Ridge Ladies Golf league host- ed the Uxbridge ladies. First low gross went to Blanche Gibbons of Uxbridge with a (42). Second low gross went to Tilly Kirby (46), third low gross to Kath Burley (49) who also came in with only 12 putts, and Terry Cris- cione (49). All of Pine Ridge. First low net from Uxbridge was Julie Murrey (31) and from Pine Ridge Irene Nutter (27). Second low net from Uxbridge was Evelyn McTavish (31) and from Pine Ridge Rose Faulkner (28). Front from left: Matt Cartwright final Winning streak comes to close On August 13th, Lish- man's and the Port Perry Kinsmen met in the Junior Division to determine the Junio Champions. After a very exciting game the Kinsmen defeated the previously undefeated Lishman team 15-14 to become the champions. Kendall Chorostecki hit a grand slam homer, and a home run with another homer by Terry Parks. Steven LaHaye had a triple with several good outs and infield plays by Art Schryburt. Pitching was covered by Chris Beacock and Ken- dall Chorostecki. Good solid defense by all players brought them to victory. On Tuesday, August 21st, the Intermediate championship game took place with Cheryl's TNT's becoming the Intermediate champ- ions after defeating P&B Lawn Ornaments The Junior Banquet and Awards night will be held Monday, Sept- ember 17th at the Nest- leton Hall. This will be a pot-luck supper with a Coaches-Parents base- ball game following. Coaches are asked to bring all ball equipment to the hall that night.
