Building permit value is down The number of build- ing permits issued for new homes in Scugog Township during the month of July increased over the number in July, 1983, but the total value of all permits last month was less than a year ago. : A report issued by the Township last week shows permits for 15 new single family homes in July with a total value of $943,000. In July 1983, there were nine permits issued with a value of $608,000. The value of all build- ing permits (farm, commercial, industrial and residential) during this July was $1,460,000, compared with $1,533,000 for the per- mits in July, 1983. The total value of all permits during this period is $6.5 million, compared with just over $8 million worth of permits issued during the same seven months last year. The value of permits for additions and alterations has also increased this year, but "building activity in the agricultural sector has fallen from $550,000 last year to $203,000 in the first seven months of this year.
