Prince Albert out of OASA On Sat. Aug. 25 in Port Perry, Prince Albert hosted the Hastings's fastball team in the first game of the semi-finals for the zone finals of the Int. D championship round. Prince Albert got on the score sheet early taking a 1-0 lead on hits by Jack Bright, Ken Irvine and Jim Mac- Leod. Hastings took the lead in the top of the eighth inning on a double by Bob Cather- son and scored on an over throw to take the lead 2-1. Prince Albert tied the game in the bottom of the ninth inning on what everyone thought was an out of the park home run by Rick Campbell. Centre fielder Bob Wilferd made the catch but ran into the fence knocking the ball free from his glove. With the game tied at 2 apiece, Hast- ings scored the game winner in the top of the eleventh inning on two Prince Albert's errors. Ken Irvine pitched an excellent game for Prince Albert going 11 innings, striking out 17 batters and giving up 5 hits.
