Sept. 22, more than two hundred well wishers were present to cele- brate the occasion. Those who came the farthest were Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Beare from Saskatchewan and they had phone calls from New York and Detroit. Several from the community attended the Quilt display and tea at Brooklin United Church on Wednesday. A corn and weiner roast for more than thirty people, family and friends of Uxbridge Secondary School custodial staff, was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Earle last Saturday. Everyone had a Jovely evening with plenty of food, topped off by a super cake, made and decorated with a corn cob design by Mrs. Larry Hannah. Things were really happening in Green- bank last Saturday, after joining in the celebration of their Golden Wedding anni- versary. Many friends of Rachel and Armour chivaried the happy couple, pots and pans, shovels and tubs made the musical noise that got them out of bed at a late hour. This was the end of a perfect day. The four tractors and wagons driven by Jamie Mal- colm, Roy Bradburn, Jim Swain and Richard VanCamp took a route across Richard Van- Camp, Jim Swain, Don Swain and Jim Byers farms to a field on the Byers farm. Here the crowd enjoyed hot dogs. The children enjoyed a parachute game. The campfire where several interesting skits were presented by the child- ren as well as camp singing led by David and Gerry Hamilton. Even the weather co- operated by keeping the rain away on the very warm fall day. A speedy recovery is wished for Janet Weir who underwent minor surgery in Port Perry Hospital this week.
