Comjng from a 2nd place season finals, the team smothered Fene- lon Falls Tennis Club 5-1, 5-1, in a home and home play-off series. The players worked their way through some tough and hotly-contest- ed matches on their route to victory. They were heartily congrat- ulated ty this year's team captain, Ralph Ballard. The tennis club has been a member of the Kawartha Mixed League since 1979 and has also won the Kawar- tha Consolation Trophy twice. The 12 member team, comprised of 7 men and 5 women, is made up into 3 men's doubles, 1 mixed double and 2 ladies' doubles teams. They play a home and home sched- ule once per week from May through July com- peting against teams from tennis clubs in Oshawa, Linds~v, Fene- h ; Kawartha League trophy | lon Falls and Peterbor- ough. August is play-off month. The league provides not only good, compete- 'tive tennis, but also enjoyable, friendly and socialable contact with tennis players from clubs in the surrounding communities.
