In the 2nd game, 4th place Scala showed their determination by defeating 2nd place Larocque by a 3-1 score. As I myself, was away at a tournament I can't comment too much on either game, but I'm sure they were both good games. BANTAM Consumers Gas - 5 Cochrane -0 How about that close league action in the bantam house league, now we have top and bottom teams just three points separating them. In the first game Friday night, the Gas Works handed the Trotters a 5-0 setback, the first league shutout this year by Mike Enzie. The goal scorers in this one were Mike Griffen with two goals, while Paul Turner, Joe Jackman, and Adam Danter. Mike Stanley with two assists along with Haines, Bradt, Shepstone and Solomon each had one each. The Gas Works played a good game and kept on top of the Trotters. Emmerson's -5 IGA -4 Emmerson's and IGA got locked in a head up hockey game with Emmersons coming out front 5-4 and creating a two way tie for second place with IGA. Both teams have nine points each. David Irvine had three goals in this one, as he got the winner with 2:24 remaining in the game. It was 1-1 after one period of play, Bobby Orr scoring for IGA - Irvine for the re-writes. In the second period Emmersons scored three, with Peter Brock getting two, Irvine the other, then Terry Bache scored for IGA from E. Douma and Orr. Head and Duane Leask along with Nottingham had assists. John Sturman assisted on Orr's goal. Two periods over 4-2 Emmersons. In the third period IGA came right back, and tied it at 44 with Mark Fitze and Arm- strong assisting. Late in the third period Irvine scored to give Emmer- sons a 5-4 win. Dec. 1 - Emmersons - 12 Cochranes - 7 Talk about getting lots of action, well we had it Sat. morning in the first 'game of the Bantam House League - Emmersons handed the Cochrane Trotters the worst defeat this year 12-7. Both teams at times wanted to take complete control, but only to have the other thwart their efforts. The Horseman took an early lead in the first period on goal by Ron Halligan and Steve Diceman then the re- writes took over, as David Irvine scored twice along with Jamie "Hydro" Mabley and Duane Leask, who each had one apiece. Assists went to Irvine, Lewis and Duane Leask. In the second period, Irvine made it 5-2 on his goal while Jeff Beddome and Scott White scored to make it 5-4 after two periods of play - Chris Logan assisting on Irvine's goal, while Marvin Hughes and Halligan earned the assist on the Trotter's goal. The third period was all Emmersons as they put in seven goals, and the Horsemen could only muster up three. This was a wide open period as Emmersons put the game out of reach of the Trotters - two penalties in the whole game; both came in the third period play.
