Time to forget November blahs Nestleton - Caesarea News by Mabel Cawker Comment Are you feeling out of sorts today? Cold ... depressed ... insecure? Join the club- you are not alone! It's a "hangover" from the November blahs! The time of year when many are mourn- ing the warm weather left behind, and dreading the onset of winter. And- a big drop in the average hours of sunlight. Not on- ly are the days shorter, but they are a lot cloudier. Cheer up folks- Christmas is on the way! We hear it whispered ... sung ... and shouted. This is a wonderful time of year- so let us drop the "blahs" and get into the spirit of the Christmassy season. Make it a joyous time for family, friends and neighbours and so forth- a real time of hap- piness as we decorate ... plan ... entertain and worship. Make the most of it ... it will never be 1984 again! Family Get-together Recently the Mairs family gathered at the home of Ted and Anne Mairs of Glenarms- a lively get-together of the clan. Those present for this enjoyable occasion were: Ivan and Rose Mairs of Lindsay, Bud and Joyce Virtue, Bowmanville, Norm and Bernice Mairs, Nestleton and the host and hostess supper- and then a "nostalgic" jazz session with their own band. Bud and Joyce on the guitars- Ivan on the saxaphone- Ted- piano and Norm is the banjo artist- but isn't quite in shape yet for the activity- since surgery- but he is improving by leaps and bounds and soon Norm will be caught up in the social whirl once again. Sounds like a fantastic evening!
