I1SWATER STREET, PORT PERRY . 985.1281 PORT PERRY STAR ~-- Tuesday, Dec. 4, 1964 -- 37 It seemed like a good idea at the time. The Star photographer wanted to take a pic- ture of Barb Boagey (left) and Elaine Buchannan outside, where the lighting was good, and in front of a 'Christmas Tree," just for effect. So Barb and Elaine, both agreeable, said okay, and willingly posed with their Holly Day equipment. But all was foiled when Mother Nature sent a cold wind in the pair's direction, sending Elaine's hat flying. Holly Day, by the way, is scheduled for this Friday, December 7th. Sponsored by the Durham Lung Association, volunteers will be selling fresh holly from British Col- umbia in both Port Perry banks for $2 a bag. All funds raised on Holly Day (as part of the Christmas Seal Campaign) will support local Lung Association programs, which aid vic- tims of asthma , emphysema and lung cancer. Advance orders for the holly can be taken by calling 985-3780.
