Prettiest Street In The Village Congratulations to Caesarea Village resi- dent Chester Pedzikow- ski once again, for his magnificent display of Christmas lighting 'round about his home and his spacious lawn. Santa is there- as well as the Christmas tree, lighted and loaded with gaily coloured parcels- elegant candles are in evidence at the front door- and so many trees all lit up for this special Yuletide Season, bring- ing jou to those who catch a glimpse of the work of art. Talk about a Christmas spirit! Year after year he puts forth a great effort to enhance his home, as well as pleasing the residents and folks passing through. For those who appreciate beauty take a drive some night (lights are on evenings from 6-12 o'clock midnight) thru' Caesarea (three blocks east of the corner store tc Lakeview Street, and there you are!) If in a festive, appreciative mood - go to Chester's door and wish him a Merry Christmas- make his Christmas joyful too- he'd really enjoy the friendliness and the fact that you admired his work. Pre-Christmas Trip of Interest Roy and Doris Not- tingham of Caesarea, had a relaxing holiday in Largo, Florida, for a 3 week period - a real break from routine - weather ideal- meals excellent- lots of time spent at the beach- a very enjoyable, refreshing holiday. Caesarea Euchre Results At the Wednesday evening card game two Chesterfield Suites Love Seats Sectionals & Mattresses - A Large Selection - ~ tied for first place- Doris . Rohrer and Gwen Robins with 78. Second prize- Linda Hughes- 77. Low- Tom Robins- 45. Don't forget the pot-luck sup- per this Wednesday at 7 p.m. before the euchre. Bring along a favourite casserole for this special supper in the Christmas season- an enjoyable time is in store for you. Eastern Star Christmas Party Several members from the Cartwright area attended Blue Ray Chapter, No. 238, held in the Masonic Temple, on Thursday, December 13, for the annual Christmas party. After the opening ceremonies were carried out in regular form con- ducted by W.M. Joyce Taylor, assisted by Wilfred Alexander P.P. of Oshawa, a warm welcome was extended in the East to Blue Ray members and sisters and brothers from other Chapters. After routine business was completed- a report was given by benevolent committee re- Christmas cheer, and sick and sun- shine. Glad to hear Sister Marjorie McCombe is home from Port Perry Hospital and while still weak- is improving healthwise. Our best to Marge after a long so- journ in hospital- we trust her problems are over with now- and she shall return to her active life once more, which she enjoys so very much. Chapter closed and a fun evening followed. Judy Mitchell had a novelty cake walk, pro- viding heaps of fun for all involved. Marg Jeffery led a Carol sing along with Carol Morrow play- ing the piano. A gift ex- change was an in- teresting feature- also two draws were held. A bountiful lunch convened by Judy Mitchell and committee brought an enjoyable evening to a close. Caesarea Youth Club A Christmas dance was held in the Centre on Friday, December 14th, with a wonderful atten- dance. The Spot dance prize winners were: Shelley Frayer, Mike Sorley and Darryl Bradt. D.J.'s were Scott and Steve McEachren and the Club wishes to ex- press a warm thank you to them for all the help they have givenas D.J.'s in the past. It has been very much appreciated. Chaperones for the even- ing were- Patti Thistle, Joe Williamson and Elaine Bradt. Refreshments were in plentiful supply- a great time had by all. The Youth Club extends a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone. U.C.W. Christmas Meeting The afternoon U.C.W. pot-luck luncheon was held at the noon hour in the attractive country home of Grahame and Neta Fish on Tuesday, December 11th. The men folk were guests for the sumptuous meal with Rev. Dale Davis asking the Blessing. Later while the U.C.W. meeting was held upstairs - the men folk enjoyed an hour of fellowship. President Bernice Mairs opened the meeting with a cordial welcome and read a poem "A Christmas Prayer."' Doris Rohrer acted as Secretary. After Silent Night was sung, the Roll Call was answered with a gift for the Christmas cheer boxes. The devotional was presented by Jean Williams and Gwen Malcolm. The four candles represented the four parts of our U.C.W. purpose- Witness, Study- Fellowship and Service. Several ladies took part and Doris Rohrer read Scripture portions. Carols were sung. A meaningful worship. Minutes were approv- ed as read and the finan- cial report given by treasurer Neta Fish was satisfactory. A generous donation was voted to the Church Stewards. Christmas cheer boses to be packed at Bernice Mair's home on Tuesday afternoon. Gwen explain- ed the change in the structure of the U.C.W. for 1985. Jean Williams has agreed to be the afternoon Unit leader with assistant leader- Bernice Mairs. other officers was presented- to be finalized before the January meeting. Jean read an account of an early Canadian Christmas. A motion of appreciation to our retiring president Bernice Mairs was given. Bernice thanked the members for co- operation during her term of office, and those responsible for the December meeting. A carload of church members visited Victor and Winelda Malcolm in their new apartment in Bowmanville, and made a presentation on behalf of the church. A social evening was enjoyed. Family Lifestyle Grahame and Neta Fish of Nestleton, are home again. They have been keeping the grand- children in Peterborough for a two week period while daughter Marlene Bannister was on a vaca- tion in the Caribbean. Special News Item Grahame Fish takes pleasure in riding his favourite horse "Birdie"" each morning, and he looks "right handsome" as he canters about the premises day after day! (A canter resembles a gallop but is a much smoother gait). We would like to see the ac- tion some morning! Norm and Bernice Mairs were afternoon tea guests with Sam and Mabel at the farm on Saturday. The Sam Cawkers, Scugog Point Road have been doing a bit of visiting of late. Last week they spent an en- joyable evening with Alan and Eleanor Cawker and family of Oshawa- and this past Sunday, were dinner guests with Chas. and Nell Cawker, Scar- borough and evening guests with Syl Cawker, Chandre and Jason and friend Mabel Twamley of Scarborough. Nestleton Presbyterian Church On Sunday, December 9th, Rev. Fred Swann was assisted in the ser- vice.
