December 24, 1984 -- 35 Annie's Christmas by Mrs. Annie Hart R.R.3 Port Perry My parents had a large family, there were nine children, four boys and five girls. I was one of three youngest children. At the time of my story I was six years old. We were a very close - family, but times were hard for my parents with so many children to care for. There were 'nights when my mom and dad would go to bed without having any supper so us kids could eat. Our clothes were hand-me downs, but we did not care because we had our parents love and guidance and that was all we needed. When Christmas came mom and dad could not afford to have Santa bring us a lot of toys and presents. We had to pick one toy or present that we really wanted and mom and dad would see if Santa could bring it to us on Christmas morning. My sister Sarah and I choose the same doll but with different colour dresses. Sarah's doll's dress was pink and my doll had a yellow dress. We were so excited we could hardly wait for Christmas morning to come. When Christmas Eve came my sister Sarah and I went to bed early so we could be the first ones up to see if Santa had left us our dolls. Christmas morning we got up out of bed and DIRECTORY AUTOMOTIVE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES | Alex J. LOS 1L0 416-986-5414 hurried downstairs. Under the beautifully decorated tree were a few presents and one doll with a tag that read ""To Sarah from Santa'. I looked all around to see if Santa had left my doll somewhere in the frontroom. But to my dismay I could not find my doll anywhere. By this time I was crying because I thought Santa had forgotten me. I went running into my mom and dad's bedroom cry- ing, "Santa forgot to bring me my doll." My" mother asked me if I was sure and did I look all around the house? I said yes and climbed up on the side of the bed still crying. My mother put her arms around me and said don't cry, I'm sure if you look around some more you will find your doll. I climbed down off the bed to look some more. When I did, the covers came off my mother's feet and there were two other little feet sticking out from under the covers. I pulled back the blanket and there was my doll with the yellow dress.
