Heron The Sanctuary of Burns Church looked lovely on Christmas Sunday, with poinsettias and candle arrange- ments in the windows and there was a good attendance. The Death family assisted Rev. McEntyre in lighting the advent wreath. With Ron read- ing the scripture from the 1st Chapter of Luke while Linda, Michael, Stephen and Ronald lit the candles. Little Adam in his mother's arms was a beautiful reminder to all, that Jesus came as a tiny babe on Christmas. The Junior choir sang two lovely Christmas pieces and the Senior choir anthem was called "Glory to God in the Highest."" Chris Batten hung the banner of "Love." The scriptures were read by Ray Ingleton and Barbara Hump- hrey. Rev. McEntyre's message was titled 'A Name to Remember." Christmas Eve Service was also well attended and it was a very impressive candle lighting service. Mathew Davidchuk read the scriptures between the carols that were sung. The junior choir sang '"'O Holy Night,"" with Chris Batten doing the solo part beautifully. The Senior Choir sang "The Prince of Peace." Arnold Ashton and Rev. McEntyre sang a lovely duet, called "Lullaby Utica & Area News by Vera Brown Best wishes to every- one for a Happy 1985. Upcoming events in Utica as follows: Fri- day, January 4th - there will be a euchre in the Hall. On Sunday, January | 6th, Church and Sunday School will be held in Utica at 11:15 a.m. The U.C.W. will hold their January meeting on Tuesday the 8th with Group 1 in charge. Euchre winners last Friday were Ladies 1st to Thelma Houghland, 2nd to Irene Elson and low was Irene Fielding. Men's 1st was Merv Storie, 2nd Hardy Noble and low Iva Yake. Scott and on Christmas Eve visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ron Cousens in Agincourt and on Christmas Day joined the Scott family at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Bradstreet in Toronto. Christmas Day was spent at Frank Fieldings in Port Perry. Wednesday visitors with Earl and Irene were Chuck and Rhonda Hutton and children of Ajax. Hillis and Carol Wilbur and boys attend- ed the Beare family Christmas at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Beare of Greenbank on Sunday. On Christmas Day Miss Carolyn Ball of Toronto joined the Wilburs and on Boxing Day Mr. and Mrs. Colin Ball and Debbie were visitors.
