nna Rs Sl an Three tournament wins for the Bantam B's The Sportsland Ban- tam B's have played in three tournaments in the past two weeks, bringing back to Port Pergy two Consolation * Championship trophies plus a Championship trophy. They also play- ed a- league game against Bowmanville coming out on top of a 5-2 score. Due to lack of space it is impossible to give full coverage of every game. To the - players that seldom get mentioned but without their tremendous effort the team would not have been so successful. Paul Wylie has been doing a super job on defense. Darren Caudle has been playing strongly on left wing. Mike Toye has to connect with a goal soon, you can't miss all' the time. Robbie Brown has not seen as many goals this year but not for the lack of trying. Robbie Jamieson pre- viously on defense likes it on wing since he connected for a hat trick in Uxbridge. Todd Poppleton out with a knee injury will be back in the lineup in a couple of weeks. Ricky King, our life saver in times of trouble, has played absolutely outstanding between the pipes. Lindsay Tournament CONSOLATION The first game was plaved against Hali- burton, Port dropped a 5-4 loss. Scoring were: Robbie Brown, Robbie Jamieson each with one apiece. Kevin Gibson had a pair. Assists: Bailey with two while Lally, Toye and Leatherdale had one apiece. The second game against Lindsay seen Sportsland sweep the opposition 3-0. This win put us into the championship game against a team from Scarborough. Port got off to 'a slow start, allowing Scarborough to go ahead 1-0. This was the only lead they saw, however, as Port came to life and went on to win by a score of 10-2. Kerri Allen made some good saves to keep Scarbor- ough down, and also got lots of help from her defensemen. Hazel Beare scored 3 - goals, 1 assist; Cindy Harris 4 assists; Lisa Levy and Melissa Moeh- ring each with 2 goals; Kelly Calloway and Jennifer Pelow each with 1 goal, 1 assist; Rachel Traynor and Jackie Durham each with 2 assists; Connie Norton with 1 goal, while Kim Caudle pick- ed up 1 assist. Congrat- ulations on another gold, girls!! On December 5, Port played host to an "A" team from Ajax. Ajax went ahead 3-0 before our girls came to life. Kelly Calloway, Jenn- ifer Pelow, and Lisa Levy each scored | goal to tie it up, and then Kelly scored another goal to give us a 4-3 lead. Ajax came back to tie it up, before Calloway put her third one behind the goalie for a final score of 5-4. Kerri Allen played a super game in net facing a lot of tough shots. Defense played strong to keep Ajax under trol Lis) Levy got Michele Beare 2 assists while Heather Law- rence and Melissa Moehring each received I assist. Sunday we hosted Mariposa for alJeague game and came out on top by a score of 6-2. Kerri Allen played an excellent game in net, to 7 3 assists; accepted the Champion- ship Trophy with each player being presented with a smaller trophy. The Fri. night league game against Bowman- ville Minor team seen Port on the winning side of a 5-2 score. Scoring were: Feasby, Caudle, Bailey, Lally , and Gibson. First game was against Little Britain who defeated Port 5-0. Port Perry faced Cannington for their second game but in spite of a good effort, the Canadian Tire team were again on the losing side of the scoreboard 5-2.- The goaltending duties for the tourna- ment were 'shared by Steve Langille and Steve Whalen. Port goals were awarded to Willie Edwards assisted by Karl Durham and Steve Solomon; and Dave Tompkins from Blair Phillips and Chris. Skura.
