Therefore the "Friendship" group meets this Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Church after having attended a Coffee Hour from 10 to 11:30 a.m, when Nancy Smail of the Whitby "Rainbow House" will be the guest speaker. Then Tuesday evening, the "Grace" U.C.W. will be busy at the Communi- ty Hall when they spon- sor a Euchre and Bake Sale at 8 p.m. So, it doesn't look as if Island women will do much of their own housework on Tuesday. Then, Wednesday evening it's more meetings. We expect the '"Head" U.C.W. will meet at the home of Anne Alstein and members who have not already donated nearly new, warm clothing for the men's hostel in Oshawa or the new Oshawa Auberge Shelter for women and children will please bring it in. At the same time, the "Grace" U.C.W. meet at the home of Linda Carleton. We trust all proposed budgets, 1984 financial reports and activity reports of the various organizations of the Scugog' nited Church will be t itten and given to Nick Henshaw this coming Sunday for nting during the llowing week. Sunday's attendance showed that it is a little difficult to get started in- to a new year. Rev. Robinson drew the y children's attention to a new calendar with it's red letter days and ex- plained how they could add more red letter days. His sermon to the adults was a plea for patience in our modern days when we expect instant response and results from others, ourselves and God. He reminded us of Mary Moffat's pa- tience and perseverance in waiting for a Commu- nion Set when the ap- propriate time arrived for her missionary work in the jungle.
