Roll call was answered by each one bringing a small gift for one of our shut-in's for Valentines. The rest of the evening was spent with Brian Campbell showing his slides on his work in Jamaica and some of the other small islands. His talk along with his slides were very interesting and infor- mative. Things are very different there and things very expensive. Bananas are their main export and a lot of families make a living selling their garden vegetable. Thursday evening the community centre was open for euchre again with seven tables. First, drug dog Shadow then, a talk about love Scugog Island News by Mrs. Earl Reader The "Grace" UCW have had two very in- teresting already in the new year. In January they had Brad Carleton and his drug dog, Shadow to in- form them about dif- ferent drugs, and how Shadow is used to sniff them out. The February meeting was held at the Manse with Mrs. Robinson as hostess. With Valentine's Day in mind, Mrs. Robin- son based the Devotional study on "Love" and showed how all God's teachings are about "Love". Then she played her auto harp while all sang 'Love Divine, All Loves Excelling."' The following program con- sisted of a Baby shower for Mrs. Robinson with Rev. Robinson reading the cards. Congratula- tions are in order for Florence Fralick who was surprised by the new position of Social Con- venor to work with the other women's groups in the church.
