The opening ceremonies were con- ducted in regular form by W.M. Sister Joyce Taylor and P.P. Brother... Wilfred Alexander of Oshawa. Due to wintry weather and poor driving conditions -- attendance wasn't as good as usual -- but it was a great pleasure to welcome the hardy souls who turned out from Oshawa, Whit- by and Cartwright, etc., the W.M. Joyceand P.P. Wilfred extended a cor- dial greeting in the East to one and all. During the brief business portion many money raising ventures were brought up for discussion and ac- tion taken. After the of- ficers retired and the meeting closed - the brothers served a very substantial buffet lunch consisting of sandwiches with a masculine touch - the sisters didn't take kindly to raw onion and salami! Later, they had delightful Valentine Cup cakes with lots of hot tea and coffee. A Valentine draw was held at the close of the evening. A good bet for an evening of fun and pleasure!
