AR Salem by Dianne Coates PPHS's annual winter carnival was held last Friday, Feb. 15, and pro- ved to be a resounding success. The day started off with the ever-popular pancake breakfast cook- ed and served up by our very own teachers. The food must have been very good since there were no reports of sud- den illness over the weekend. The activities that took place that after- noon included toboggan races, egg toss, Pepsi chug, and tug o' war. There were several original entries in the snow sculpture contest this year. First prize went to the industrious "All-Nighters" team. The winners in the "jock" and "jockette' contest were: for the juniors, Adam Zimmer- man and Molly Morris; Looking like a dancer from Footloose, this Port Perry High School student wings it with a hula hoop and managed to win his round in the hula hoop contest, keeping the ring moving on his hips longer than the girls he was competing against. "The Skier" won first prize in the Port Perry High School's Winter Carnival Snow Sculpture Contest for seniors Dino Sergnese, Nick Cracknell, Chris Watson, Darrin Desautels, Steve Van Elst, Henry de Jong, Ken Br ae Teh Langille, Rick Alsop and Darryl Musselman.
