The Ontario and Cana- dian Annual meetings of the Guernsey Associa- tion were held at the Holiday Inn in Peter- borough on Monday, Tuesday and Wednes- day. Attending from here were Bob and Shirley Holliday and Shelley who competed in the Guern- sey Princess Contest; Ralph and Peggy Larmer, Harvey and Joan Graham and Dave and Ingrid Larmer. Frank Barkey provided the music for the dance after the Tuesday even- ing banquet and was very well received by the large number of delegates. This week was also the Convention the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies. Representing the Blackstock Agricultural Society were Kathleen and David Petrie; Jean Mahaffy, Katie Visser, Grace Bajema, Eleanor Werry, Elaine Bailey, Kathy Hill, Rolly Coy, Gerald and Joyce Kelly. Blackstock won three prizes in the Photo Com- petition in connection with this convention which was held at the Royal York. On Saturday the Junior Farmers' Annual Ban- quet and Dance was held in the Blackstock Recreation Centre. After Buttery a delicious ban- quet prepared and serv- ed by the ladies of the 0.N.O. was enjoyed. President Karen Yellowlees welcomed all - evening was present after which Lawrence Van Camp in- troduced the Head table, Dale Van Camp spoke on 1984 in Review. Karen Yellowlees introduced Brenda Metcalfe who very capably spoke on "Re ing 70 Years." The John Larmer Outstanding Junior Farmer Award was presented to a very sur- prised Janet VanCamp. Karen gave her Presi- dent's remarks after which she was presented with her past President's pin by Dave Buttery. President elect Lawrence Van Camp gave his remarks. The business included plans for a banquet for the Federation of Agriculture on March 15, World's Day of Prayer, March 1, General Meeting Feb. 27, Presbyterial on March 19. Marion Larmer had charge of the Theme Korea. The Roll Call was well answered by some fact about Korea. The February meeting of the O.N.O. was held at the home of Kathleen Dorrell. Each person was given three hearts to wear in honour of Valen- tine's Day but these were easily lost by an action and a certain word. Following January minutes, cor- respondence, treasurer's report and Parks Board report, the 1985 roll call sheets were distributed. The Rangers in the communi- ty are selling cheese as a fund raising project and an order form was circulated. The roll" call was to bring staple food and tell what attracted you to your husband and was well answered. Kathleen then had the members answering questions to tell all about our "'fantastic lifestyle" after which a game with . pennies was played. Nancy Bryans was the winner. Kathleen served a delicious chocolate dessert and a social time was enjoyed. The March meeting will be held at the home of Elaine Bailey. A group of local curlers enjoyed their day of curling on Sat. held at the Peterborough Curl- ing Club and sponsored by the Millbrook Curling Club. Tax tips Q.
