In his absence last Sunday at Burns Church, Rev. Dr. George Moorc took charge of the morning service. He took his text from St. Mathew '"'Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things will be added unto you." It was a challenging message. Hugh Knight read the scriptures and the choir sang "Isn't the Love of Jesus something wonderful." The Horticulture meeting last Wednesday evening was both lively and lovely. Lively because President Ken Brown keeps the interest running high, he had a cross-word puzzle, which we did in groups all about orchids, whica hardly anyone knew anything about until after the meeting and lovely because the special speaker Mel Bain brought some very beautiful orchids, and with his co-worker, Al Bickell told us a lot about orchids and showed some . very beautiful slides. Did you know there are about 25,000 species of orchids and they aren't really very hard to grow." The St. Thomas ladies were hostesses for a lovely lunch and time of friendship in the church hall after the service. Ted and Rose Heron _had a very happy and in- teresting visit last week when Rev. Murray Barnett of London, On- tario came. His mother's name was Effie Heron and at one time the fami- ly was very interested in Burns Church. Florence and Douglas Ashton visited with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Vicers and family of Fergus, also Mrs. Ruth Purdy of Mono Mills over the weekend. Winter break is com- ing up next week. Your children won't remember if the house is tidy but they will remember if you read them a story. Have a happy week. - EIS AAMAS DASARI HASSAN PAR SPOOR AN, pi) AAAI AAA hh) SEES PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, March §, 1985 -- 15 av nL Cel nue in, .
