This game was a defensive struggle with most of the play in Port's end. It was Mike Pashley who kept Stouffville off the scoreboard in one of his finest games of the year. He faced many shots as Port had quite a job clearing it out of their own end. The fans from both teams were amazed at the outstanding goaltending abilities of this fine young goalie. Port Perry opened up the scoring late in the 1st period on a lovely back- hand shot by Kenton LeFort assisted by cen- treman Ritchie Tripp. With Stouffville failing to penetrate Port's goal they pulled their net- minder in an attempt to tie the score but with 28 seconds left Sandy Mark put the insurance goal in the empty net ending the game with Port winning 20. The close of this game saw Port, Stouffville and Pickering all tied for 1st place but play-off rules state that if there is a tie the 2 winners will be chosen by total goals.
