The Sam Cawkers at- tended the coffee break at Scugog Island Church during the week but very sorry to miss the guest speaker Dr. Gordon Lawson who spoke on Holistic healing- and as well- presented a com- prehensive talk on health in general. : Mike and Pat Dear- born, Scugog Point, at- - tended a seminar held at the Howard Johnson Motor Motel in Scar- borough on the weekend, sponsored by Dupont in Whitby. The overall part was about investment and excellence- a self im- provement type of thing. Talk about unemploy- ment! Two 8 year old boys called at the Cawker farm on Satur- day looking for work. We know the youth are the disadvantaged in the THE CHILDREN'S DEN 287 QUEEN 8T. - PORT PERRY work force, but how far down does it reach in the youth group? We admire these kids for their serious effort! At the Fish residence during the week- Doug Fish and sister Heather Munro, Sonya, accom- panied by Neta Fish, Nestléton, enjoyed a lovely dinner on Friday evening at Haugen's Restaurant, Manchester. Calvin and - Yvonne Holland and family, Bowmanville were Thursday evening dinner guest with his mother and daughter Audrey Leishman, Reaboro, was a Sunday guest. After Church on Sunday, Neta had lunch with Lawrence and Gwen Malcolm. To top it off- a phone call from Aunt Jane and cousin Connor of Saskat- chewan made her day! They plan to visit her later this year. The Churches A good attendance at Nestleton United and stu- dent minister Elaine Barber conducted the service in the absence of the mimster. She presented a splendid message to the con- gregation interspersed by singing suitable hymns in keeping with Lent Sunday. The Sun- day School enjoyed their interesting story as well. David Walker and Ken Weir assisted in the Nursery. The choir sang a meaningful anthem led by Gwen Malcolm. Next Sunday is Palm Sunday and Sacrament of Com- munion. Keep in mind the Korean Mission Festival nc <t Sunday as well- 3 to 5 p.m. to be held at Blackstock United. At the Presbyterian Church, Rev. Swann using Scripture from Luke and Corin- thians, continued with Lent *'The events of the last weeks of Easter and spoke of the Lord's Sup- per."" Mrs. Scott- organist. Next Sunday- Palm Sunday and Holy Communion. Try to at- tend these fine services! A nice company of peo- ple at Caesarea Com- munity Church. Rev. W.H.
