Our house league teams are putting on this drama night, and the plays are as follows: Tigers - Terror Walks Tonight; Ookpiks - Just Another Day; Alicats - Married at Sunrise. Please plan to attend one or both evenings. On March 22nd we had our official **'Punk Day" and prizes were awarded to the best dressed. This year our punkette is Jeanette Reader and our two punkers are Rob Dickson (better known as "'Spike") and Blair Locke. Thanks to everyone who showed their school spirit by dressing up! School will be closed on Good Friday, April the 5th and Easter Monday which is April the 8th. I hope that everyone had a great March Break, as it is "that" time again! Exams are scheduled for April 18th and 19th. (This is just a reminder!) On Friday our Skipathon takes place, and students will be skip- - ping for two hours to raise money for the On- tario Heart Foundation. It's still not too late to sponsor a student for this event. Parents' Night was ( held on Thursday night when a good number of parents came to talk with the teachers. (I hope that everyone is still allowed to go out this weekend!) Musical doctor sends crowd into fits of glee (From page 15) that would make Old Blue Eyes himself sit up and take note, it was sung so smoothly! The highlights of the Jazzmerize presentation had to be their accapello rendition of The Gold Rush, flawlessly per- formed by the whole D) \ | | EC 0) I | | professionaLsirvices automotive LAW OFFICE HOURS: Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening Appointments Available. Jazzmerize closed their performance with Bird Land, featuring Melanie Lee, Mike Relf, Charlene Daigle, Janet Simmonds and Vicki Rensink, followed by an encore number designed to melt your heart - My Funny Valentine. One could really say that Charlie White has performed a minor miracle with this group, for there is certainly no generation gap here - in fact these kids have gone back a couple of genera- . tions so smoothly, it was definitely nostalgia time. All in all, the evening couldn't have been more enjoyable - there was certainly something for everyone, and everyone certainly enjoyed the show. There was just one thing that bothered me, so I went right over and asked Jan White, who was the lady pretending to be doing her dusting right there on stage, "How did you ever let them talk you into ap- pearing on stage in a get- up like that?' "Well it was actually my own idea' replied Jan - "You see, it was a lot better than the idea Tom came up with!!" Young Robert Dirstein will soon be off to the prestigious Britten Pears School of Music at Aldeburgh; Dr. Tom con- tinues rehearsing with his Choral Society preparing for their April production of Show Boat , and the Stage Band and Jazzmerize are on to shows and competitions in Oshawa and hopefully in Quebec City, and in New York City, where we're wishing them all the luck in the world. Mind you, it will be hard for them to beat the highlight of one of their former trips, when they were requested by the pilot of a 737, while flying 35,000 feet above Saskat- chewan, to perform in the cockpit of the air- craft!!
