Spraying with the chemical Reglone A is one way of getting rid of some of the weeds, but the cost is about $20 per acre, and that does not include the payment for a licenced person to get the chemical into the lake. During disucssion on the matter, councillor Harvey Graham wondered if costs could be reduced if the Township could have one of its employees licenced to apply the chemical. One property owner who has some 230 acres of land immediately south of the proposed pit expansion has hired a: Toronto law firm to fight the application. The application for an expanded pit has been reviewed by both the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and both these agencies say they have no objec- tion to it.
