At Friendship UCW this Wednesday Island history to be presented Scugog Island News by Mrs. Earl Reader Well, the interesting and full Easter week is over. After experiencing such miserable weather on Sat. we couldn't believe that we could be honoured with such a beautiful Easter Sunday. At the Island United families and neighbours enjoyed an early breakfast together prior to a friendly chat and gathering in the church which filled to capacity with regular adherents and friends from Port Perry, Oshawa, Woodstock, Norwood, Toronto, Mexico, New ' 5 York as well as some from winter vacations in Florida. The Easter music was much enjoyed as presented by Edna Beckett, Geo. Freeman and Bob Cawker and later the Sr. and Jr. choirs with special parts by Nick Henshaw and Joan Aldred. We were pleased to see the development of Carol Robinson's growing Jr. choir. After the service many admired the scene of the empty tomb built up by Madeline Cawker. The first event for this 1) x Durham-York Conservatives officially got the election campaign underway in Port Perry Monday morning as they opened their campaign office at Conway Gardens.
