Continuing she said "When asked to speak on "Pulling Together' an image of a tug-of-war game came to her mind. Jesus Christ is the strength at the end of the rope, but we need to work together as a team. If we are going to pull together we need to find the middle ground in order to involve all women both young and old. As we look to the future we must not pull against each other but let the power of Christ flow through us as we pull together as women of the church." Leola English thanked Rev. Roberts for her inspiring message. Following the nomina- tion report given by Thea Brandsma, the election and installation of Of- ficers for 1985 was con- ducted by Gwen Wentland, Conference President. Olive Wray of Fenelon Falls, representing Region 4, expressed the courtesies and a hymn and benediction closed the 23rd Annual Meeting of Lindsay Presbyterial United Church Women. Council okays perma beer tent Scugog Township has agreed to put up a per- manent enclosed struc- ture between the two baseball diamonds on Water St. which can serve as a beer garden during the many ball tournaments that take place over the summer months. The structure will have an enclosed roof, but will not have sides. Organiza- tions wishing to use it as a beer garden will put up temporary canvas sides during their event. The request for such a structure came to the municipality from local baseball organizations, and it is expected to save them considerable money in tent rentals. The structure will be about 16 by 32 feet, have a steel roof in dark brown colour, and will be located just to the south of the smaller diamond on Water Street.
