---- Historicsite for a wedding Ashburn Area News by Mrs. E. Heron pL eal Jay AG a So ma" (PF aut Nieman tm A lovely wedding was solemnized in the historic church at Glen Major last Saturday afternoon when Rachael Matilda Teresa Eeckout became the bride of George Russell Harper. Mrs. Edith Anne McManiman was the of- ficiating minister of the Epsom and Utica charge. Rachael looked lovely in a pink gown and was given in marriage by her sister Elsie of Florida and her matron of honour was a sister Carey of Texas. The best man was Murray Geer of Utica. During the service Mrs. Ross Parrott sang a beautiful solo. A lovely reception was held in Burns Church prepared and served by the Glen Major ladies. We wish the happy cou- ple many, many years of happiness. There is always a first time for everything and for the first time as far as we know a bus pulled in- to Ashburn Church yard last Wednesday morning to take us on a trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake and to the Shaw Festival. It was a brand new bus .. and a good driver and Barbar Porter deserves a lot of credit for the work she did on the organization of the trip. Last Sunday at Burns Church the ushers were Art Mathews and son Richard. Rev. McEn- tyre's message was titl- ed "Heroic Living" from the book of Hebrews. Ron Ashton read the scriptures and Bill Gard- ner read the responsive psalm. The choir sang 'Seeking the Lost." In the afternoon last Sunday several from Ashburn attended the service in Breadalbane Presbyterian Church when the Burns Men's choir helped with the music.
