They letters presented an inspira- tional devotional on the '"Healing Touch of Jesus," based on several scriptural selections. Cathy then introduced the film, 'The Healing Touch' with Beryl Pot- ter as narrator. After viewing the film and a question and answer period, we werc ied to see how important the human touch is to our overall well-being and development. Sharing our touch with others can lead to improved health and happiness. SAVE DOLLARS FIX IT ... a BLACRSTOCK MACHINE SHOP We Fix Everything from Broken Swivel Chairs to Bulldozer Roller Shells 1-986-5561 TELLING IT LIKE IT IS by Bev Silverman LADIES, GO FOR IT To my faithful readers I apologize. | "know it has been quite sometime since I wrote an expose, or even a hint of one, on anybody in our fair town, but you see I've been so busy around the house planting, digging, fertilizing and generally cleaning up the joint. Like John B., so aptly put it, I can't chew gum and walk all at the same time. Actually the whole problem has been that nothing much exciting has happen- ed in the big town, and let's face it my poor Donnie has been taking quite a beating in this space lately. For quite sometime now, I 've been so nice and cheerful that even my customers at work are having it good. There hasn't been a snarky waitress in sight for weeks now. Well that has all come to an end. Now there is something I can finally sink my teeth into. Meat and potatoes kind of stuff. Hot off the press. THE SEXIEST MAN IN SCUGOG TOWNSHIP. It's about time. Being that I work in and around the public all the time, I consider myself somewhat of an expert in this field. I mean I see hunks come and go all the time. Eat your hearts out, ladies. Although maybe they don't live in Scugog Township either, Ho Hum. Oh well, I'm sure there are a few out there somewhere, just waiting for someone to nominate them. Come on girls. Go for it. Show them you're backing them all the way 100 per- cent. It's for a good cause - The Kidney Foundation. This should make for a lot of fun. I would like to share a few of these semi hunks I have come to know over the past few years, a few I might even con- sider voting for. Each in their own category, if you please. First of all, just to show I mean business, I would like to be put on the record that I Bev Silverman has voted one penny for John B. even though he has been very nasty to me lately. To show how good a person I am, I will let bygones be bygones and start the ball rolling. By the way John, I don't know what category you would be under. Could someone give me a clue? The Business Man category, I have thought long on this one, and I have come up with nominee No.1 Mitch Kowal, owner of the Ridgeview Snack Bar. So what if he's my boss. Give me a break. How else am | going to get a raise"? Only kidding Big Mitch. Really all funning aside, he's the most considerate, nicest, craziest looniest boss I have ever had and I'd rather fight than switch. He may not be the most sexiest business man around, but according to his wife Chris, there is very definite possibilities there. You have my vote, Mitch. The next category is for sexiest politican. Heh there's no contest here as far as I'm concerned. I nominate none other than my dentist Jack Baby. After all, he does have the sexiest eyes I've ever seen. The rest of him, well I would say sexy in a cute sort of way. Do I get more roses Jack? Farmer, I don't know. I've never seen a sexy farmer yet. I mean how can you be sexy with the smell of manure all over you. This should prove to be a very in- teresting category. I would be very in- terested in seeing who will be nominated for sexiest farmer. I'll probably get hate letters on this one. Salesman was a tough one. Does sell- ing Life Insurance count? Well I've got just the man in'mind. He's got the cutest turned up nose and a silly little grin to go along with it. Jack Lally lives and breathes in good old Port Perry and he has to be the nicest salesman who has dared to cross my path. So here's to you, Jack, keep up the good work. Civil Servant, well that has to be none other than Wolfgang. Now there's a name and a half. Enough to scare your pants off, right? Don't worry, he's actually on- ly a puppy dog underneath that police uniform. I'm not really sure if he's the sexiest cop on the beat, but he tries I'm sure. Hang in there Wolfy, one day you'll be right up there with, and compared to, the now famous spiffy Peter, another one of Durham's finest. Come to think of it, Peter could very well be considered sexy, in a neat sort of way and he only looks heavy in pictures. Joe Solomon has to be my choice for the Senior Citizen category. You are old enough to qualify, aren't you Joe? We wouldn't want any cheating going on here. Anyways, as long as everything is on the up and up, I consider Joe the sexiest old man around, he's just packed full of devil- ment. In plain English, I guess you could call him a dirty old man. Keep on truckin Joe, we love ya. Last but not least is the working man category. This is a hands down decision. Who else but My Donnie. If being the best husband in the world counts, then Donnie my boy, you are in like flint. Nobody in the world can compare to him especially when he is in his shorts. I don't even care that they look more like a skirt draped around his pale skinny little legs. To me his is the height of sexiness. So don't worry hon, I'll nominate ya whether anybody else does or not. I'll even talk your mother into voting for you 0.K.? Now I tell ya is that love or what? So to all you sexy men in Scugog Township, good luck and may the best man win. P.S. Would anybody like to vote for my Donnie? Remember a vote for my Donnie is a vote for your Kidney. For some reason that doesn't sound quite right, but what the heck. TT
