fle MAH eo ot mt A Nestleton-Caesarea News by Mabel Cawker On Saturday, June 22, Roy and Doris Not- tingham of Caesarea at- tended the lovely graduation ceremony of granddaughter, Lyn Not- tingham, second daughter of Jack and Karel Nottingham of Port Perry, who graduated in "Law En- forcement' in Peter- borough Community Centre. After the im- pressive ceremony the family members went to Rock Haven for dinner. Our warmest con- gratulations to Lyn! Twelve Past Matrons from Blue Ray Chapter, No. 238, 0.E.S. met at the spacious home of Sister Doris Nottingham in Caesarea for the June 17th supper meeting. At approximately 6 p.m. members sat down to a culinary delight - this was not a meal but an ex- perience. Oh! What a feast! On Saturday evening June 22, Allan and Marguerite Beacock celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary held in the Nestleton Community Centre with a host of relatives and friends present to extend "best wishes" for many years of happiness. George Bowers of Nestleton, was 82 years young on Saturday, June 22, and attended the celebration held for Allan and Marguerite Beacock. "Very best wishes" to George for many more! Caesarea Card Game On Wednesday even- ing last a splendid atten- at the dance for the friendly weekly card party spon- sored by the Ladies Aux- ithary. First - Del Marlow and James Emerton each held a score of 83. Low - Albert Watts - 54. Next week as usual at the Centre. The Yard Sale on Saturday was a fair suc- cess with Tom Robins Jr winning the Cabbage Patch Doll Congrat- ulations! Mrs. Neta Fish, Nestleton, attended the anniversary service at St. Andrews Presby- terian Church, Sonya, on Sunday, June 23 at 11 a.m. when Rev. Edward O'Neill was the speaker. The present church was erected in 1892. A salad luncheon was enjoyed after the service. A 'highlight' of the ser- vice was the presentation of a sheaf of beautiful flowers and a gift to Heather Munro (Neta's sister-in-law) for 50 years service to the Sonya Church. Our con- gratulations to Heather! Nestleton United Church With Sam and Mabel Cawker greeting at the door a smaller atten- dance than usual on Sun- day, June 23 at Nestleton United with some thirty- five worshippers pre- sent. . Visitors were welcomed. Lovely flowers graced the sanc- tuary placed in memory of Edwin Le Miere of Caesarea by his wife, Lois. Choir number was an old favourite - "Wonderful Words of Life' led by organist Gwen Malcolm. Rev. Dale Davis in good form presented a message we can all take to heart and learn from "Nobody Loves A Self-Martyr" - taken from portions of Scripture - John and Luke. Hall Board Flea Market Although the weather was anything but pro- mising - the Saturday Flea Market at the Nestleton Centre was a success and an improve- ment over last year. This event is an annual pro- ject and sponsored by the Nestleton Hall Board. Van Nest ReUnion Held On Sunday, June 23, the sun shone on the Van Nest family re-union when 60 descendants of William Van Nest and Eliza Arnot met at the Nestleton Community Centre for their annual get together. Relatives were present from Kingston, Windsor, Toronto and other local points. The next re-union will be held June 22, 1986 and the family agreed that the Nestleton Com- munity Centre is the ideal place. Caesarea Community Church A very good service on Sunday with Rev. Charles Clarke conduc- . ting the service. Daniel Pugh Jr. read the Scrip- ture and the Responsive reading. Rev. W.H. Crawford used as his theme, "The Great Woman' taken from 2nd Kings - Ch.4 - verse 8. <he minister also played for the hymns. Next Sun- das "lam. Picnic Hosted Don and Norma Frew of Nestleton hosted a pic- nic for their employees on Sunday afternoon with 45 attending. A fine get together and good weather prevailed. Congratulations Warmest congratula- tions to Dawn Bayley of Caesarea who won the coveted Duke of Edin- burgh gold medal. She, along with other young folks across Canada, travelled to Rideau Hall, Ottawa, for the presenta- tion of the gold award pins on June 4, 1985. Happy Event We are delighted to hear that Roy and Kay Notman, Nestleton, are the proud parents of a baby boy, Robert John, weighing 7 Ibs. 3 oz. A lit- tle brother for Claire and Jennifer. Nestleton Presbyterian Church The regular service was held with Psalm 37 - Watch out for new law enforcement grad Scripture from Ephe- sians 6. Rev. Fred Swann's theme 'Prayer for Others." The celebra- tion of Communiion was a special part of the ser- vice. Next Sunday, stu- dent Susan Swann, will take the pulpit. Church closed during the month of July and a supply minister for August. Sympathy Extended We very much regret to hear of the sudden passing of Edwin Le Miere of Caesarea on Wednesday evening. He leaves to mourn his lov- ing wife, Lois, and three sons - Steven and wife Gloria of Yelverton, Robert, and Tom and wife Colleen and daughter Carrie of Caesarea. Ed will be sad- ly missed by many relatives and friends.
