Since 1975, Mr. Eakin's position as Opposition Critic for the Ministry of Tourism and Recreation and the former Ministry of Industry and Tourism has allowed him to follow closely, and become a spokesman for, many of the ministry's important issues. Mr. Eakins has also closely followed such recreation concerns as fish restocking and fishing licences, closer ties with municipalities in sports and fitness and ministry involvement in. privatization of provin- cial parks.
