Ladies please bring lunch. On Sunday, July 7, 1985 a good number of our community attended a joint service with Pinedale United Church as they witnessed Rev. David Shepherd take his first charge. Next Sun- day, July 14 the joint ser- vice between two chur- ches will convene at the Seagrave United Church at 9:30 a.m. and again at Pinedale on Sunday, Ju- ly 21. We all extend a friendly welcome to the church's new minister. The Seagrave and area Cubs and Scouts are holding another yard sale this coming Satur- day, July 13 at Martha Volman's home located across from the park. Martha informs us that good items are desperately needed and they can be dropeed off at her place any time this week. The boys are also reminded that they are to attend this event in full uniform to share their experiences from the Jamboree they just at- tended. Please keep in mind that we still need to firmly establish a group committee to keep the scouting movement go- ing and growing here in September. No group committee - No Beavers, Cubs or Scouts. On the social side, Shane Coxworth of Ux- bridge had a recent vacation at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Tobin while Billy Sandiford and Peter King had the ex- perience of travelling to Kitchener last week with Billy's grandparents, Dick and Gladys Wood of Whitby, in their mobile home. Grandparents are sure wonderful folks when we think of our own youth and the fun times we spent with our own grandparents. We were pleased to welcome Pat Fletcher's mother, Mrs. Schwab as a guest from Florida. Upon short notice, Helen Redman ably chaired the meeting in order to give Beryl Pearce a special opportunity to take a part in a movie. For the Devotions, Pat Fletcher's group had chosen to study Steward- ship as to its full meaning and implications involv- ing our life style in the use of time, talents and © consideration for others. Future events were discussed and planned and we were reminded of the Chicken Barbecue on August 3 to raise money for the Building Fund. The first two days of the jamboree one depot alone received seven shipments to fuel four sub-camps, or 4,000 peo- ple .with between-meal snacks.
