The Greenbank Sun- day School church ser- vice and picnic in the Park took place on Sun- day. Because of the dull rainy weather the ser- vice was held informally in the church. Rev. Sheperd used the parable of the 5 Loaves and 5 fishes to illustrate, that Picnic so long ago when Jesus fed the multitude with the one little boy's lunch, teaching the children to share with one another. Roberta Baird led the singing, accompanied by Betty Stone. Everyone enjoyed their picnic lunch in the basement. The sun came out in time for the games to be played outside. Randy Watson con- ducted the races. The Wm. _ Stones had the most family members in attendance. Travelling the farthest to Greenbank were Misses Amy and Lisa Ellison from Thamesville. The UCW Bake Sale on Friday afternoon was a huge success. It was decided to have it earlier . next year to catch the Northbound cottages and to ask members to have their baked goodies in by one o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Couperthwaite attended the Orangeman"s Parade in Peterborough on Saturday. The Raines and Stone families were hosts to a busload of New Zealand Holstein Breeders one day last week. Miss Heather Morrison of Thunder Bay visited Willie and Betty Stone last Friday afternoon. Please get your tickets for the Church Barbecue on Aug. 2nd now as they are going fast. On Tuesday, Sharon, Parker and Corrie Mor- ton with friends, Mrs.. Judy Scholey and Lorie Fillion from Ajax, visited at the George Beares to enjoy a picnic lunch and an afternoon swim. Parker stayed on for holidays with Grandma and Grandpa. This past weekend the Greenbank Oriole Lob Ball team took part in a tournament in Nestleton. As the result of fine play by all the team they made it to the champion- ship round but lost in a close game to a Port Perry team. The Orioles are now eligible to play ina O.V. tournament in Niagara Falls this September. Moving back to Port Bryan Stainton and his wife, Joan of Nepean, Ontario, have sold their home and are moving back to Port Perry where they have pur- chased a new home in Apple Valley. He has accepted the position of Brewers Retail Manager in the Uxbridge Store. He began working for Brewers Retail in Port Perry under the manage- ment of John Zaparozan in June 1972 then transferred to the Ot- tawa district in 1976, where he became a manager in April 1981 and has been managing the store at Kanata the past 3 years. He is a son of Mrs. Albert Terry. His wife is a daughter of Mrs. Lloyd Clark. And both families welcome them back to Port Perry.
