We, the staff, have tried some new ideas and new crafts this year We feel that generally Playground has been a huge success - but we would like to hear your views about Playground '85 Each child will be sent home with an evaluation form which we hope you will fill out and return to the Playground that your child attends (or you could drop it off at the Municipal Office) We can only improve our program with your help As you know, Playground has been selling T shirts for a mere $5.00 (cost value) If you have not ordered a T shirt for your child yet, there's still time but hurry - they won't be around for long! The shirts are "made in Canada' and are a hght blue in colour I hope your children have had as much fun participating in Playground as we have had working with them. GREENBANK PLAYGROUND by Terry, Michelle and Debbie Wow' We're certainly in the home stretch! Last week the farm tour and cake raffle was a great success! This week will even prove to be better! Monday was swimming day, Tuesday was a tour of Mother's Pizza, Wednesday our Big Trip while Thursday 1s Movie Day and finally Friday 1s Water Day At this time [| would like to thank Greenbank and the surrounding area for all of the support and co-operation that you have shown us. Our cake raffle raised approx- imately $130.00 while the Walk-a-Thon raised about $110. and Bottle Drive raised a little to help too! So its been a very successful fundrais- ing summer. I'm sure the children will really enjoy what we've got planned to do with it. Thank you once again and we hope to see you again next week. Tues- day was Mexican Day, we cooked tacos and decorated a pinata stuff- ed with an assortment of goodies Compliments of Square Boy Pizza, we received a tour and piz- za for everyone. All the kids would like to give you a Big Thank You! Thursday we brushed up on our French, made crepes, and sang French songs. Friday we watch- ed Indian movies while munching on popcorn. In the afternoon we made totem poles and prizes were awarded to each person for different categories. As you can see, we have had a fun filled week. Well there's only 2 End is near for playkids weeks left' Last week went really well' The results of our talent show was first place singing - Martin Gotthelf and first place acting Steven Cochrane and Peter Mathews (once they become famous, we can say we know them') Be- ing entertainment week, we had a special visit from a Muppet celebrity -Sweetums' Our Rock Party was great. There were celebrities from Bruce Springsteen and Boy George to Madonna! Our winners of the dress up contest were Darren Kinnunen as Boy George, and Blayne Kin- nunen as Elton John. Our walk-a-thon on Thursday was a great success (ex- cept for the heat). The proceeds of this fun- draiser go towards ovr trip to Ontario Place. The theme for this week is Holiday Week. We will be taking a quick trip through the year, (no kids that doesn't mean you're another year older). On Wednesday, we will be having our bake sale (Scout Hall) so ~ome on down.
