Birthday Party A 4th birthday celebra- tion was held for daughter Stacey Headon on July 21, 1985, at the home of her parents Larry and Betty Headon, Nestleton. Eighteen members of the family attended from Toronto, Newmarket and Bob- caygeon. Stacey receiv- ed some lovely, exciting gifts - a very lucky girl! good food, ana tun, 6 help celebrate. A happy year ahead for little Stacey! A Visit to Ontario Mrs. Jane Boyes, son Connor and cousin Leona 'Shillington of Carnduff, Sask., have recently returned home - after a two week visit with Mrs. Neta Fish, Nestleton. While in Ontario a very full, exciting schedule was carried out, seeing relatives and friends. The Western folks visited many points of interest such as Cullen Gardens and Niagara Falls while here. They also visited friends in Cobourg, ac- companied by Paul Vaneyk and Neta Fish. It was delightful to meet them. Trust they are rested up by now! Sincere Sympathy Our sympathy goes out to Barbara and Arthur Weir, Ken and David, in the loss of Barbara's father- Mr. Jack Wall of Toronto who passed away July 26, after a lengthy illness. A beautiful solo was rendered by Bob Heayn entitled 'My Tributes" written by Andrai Crouch and the background accompani- ment was played by an accomplish organist Mrs. Norma Wilson of Duntroon. The work on the Church Hall is progressing- anyone who like to lend a hand would be welcome this week after Monday. We com- mend the Caesarea men- they are moving right ahead with the new hall. Regatta a Real Success The Lake Scugog an- nual 53rd Regatta and Field Day was once again a great success. This is the big weekend at Caesarea when the Regatta attracts cot- tagers from all over the area for many events for all ages. The Gov't dock in the village was posted with a sign '"'unfit for swimming' so through the courtesy of Jim Grieves of Blackstock, they held the swimming races in the pools at his home - that really made their day. The commit- tee wish to thank Jim for his kindness and thoughtfulness. It was REALLY appreciated. A personal thank you from the committee, also to the folloiwng for can- vassing the residents for funds- Collette Reeder; Mary Ryan; Gloria Par- sons; Brenda Thistel; Barbara Baxter; Shirley Love, Grant Walley; Ivor Guest; Phil Burk; Keith Prout; Wayne Bradt, Nancy Prout and Albert Putsey. Caesarea Card Game The Wednesday even ing euchre proved in teresting held in the Caesarea Centre with a good attendance. The winners were: First prize- Minnie Fisher with 83. Second went to Stan Miller with 81. Low- Ross Wingrove- 52. Next Wednesday as ususal. Nestleton Presbyterian Church Services have resumed at Nestleion Presbyterian at 10 a.m. Quite a number of visitors were welcomed on Sunday morning. Rev. J. Gilchrist spoke on "Listening and Remembering The Text" taken from Mat- thew 7: 13-23. Mrs. Scott organist. Keep in mind the service next Sunday. Nestleton Evening U.C.W. Meet The U.C.W. evening unit held their summer meeting on July 3lst, 1985 at the lovely home of Chris Davis on Scugog Point Road, with Leader Arlene Malcolm in the chair. Joyce Johns presented the worship with Script readings from Psalm 34: 11-15 Come Ye Children, and Psalm 127; 3-5- Good Children His Gift, closing with a beautiful poem "God Created Love." Much to the surprise of Kay Notman, a baby shower has been planned to welcome her newest arrival Robert John. Arlene read two poems, "When baby brushes up on your housekeeping" and "If." Family Comings & Goings The Sam Cawkers of Scugog Point Road en- joyed a visit with friends John and Pauline Lyons of Millbrook recently and had a delightful tour of the village which now boasts a population of 900 residents. We even saw the cottage where we us- ed to live when Sam taught Continuation School there. Our guide John was well versed re- points of interest which added much to our enjoyment. Weekend guests with the Sam Cawkers at the farmstead were: Ted, and Esther Wilson, Kel- ly and Courtney and Nor- ma Wilson - all of Dun- troon. Norma is spending a 10 day holiday with Sam and Mabel. Mr. and Mrs. Len Pearsell of Haliburton spent the weekend with Neta Fish at Nestleton. Mrs. Neta Fish attended the Decoration Service at Sunderland Cemetery this past week. Later Mrs. Heather Monroe, Mr. Doug Fish, Mrs. Marion Short and Neta had a satisfying dinner at Haugen's Restaurant at Manchester. Last week Mi. and Mrs. L. Malcolm, Nestleton, spent a few days holidaying in Strat- ford, Brantford and Sim- coe area. They enjoyed 3 plays and the Stratford Festival and called on relatives. The Nestleton - Ww. I. members are reminded of the August 14th trip to the Academy at Lindsay- cars to leave Nestleton Community Centre by 11:15 a.m. The annual Mairs pic- nic was held at the love- ly home of Norm and Bernice Mairs on Sunday with some 30 Pave present. Family members were there from: Glenarm; Bowmanville; Oshawa: Collingwood; Pontypool : Ballantrae; London: Lindsay and Raglan. A wonderful day of feasting, visiting and many activities enjoyed. Lawrence and Gwen Malcolm, Nestleton, hosted a family gather- ing for their children and grandchildren at their home. Twenty-two at- tended including great grandfather Stan Malcolm and enjoyed the day very much. Dinner guests with Norm and Bernice Mairs on Sunday were Ken and Dorothy Whittingham and Roy from Oshawa. Get Well Very sorry to hear that Allan Mairs had the misfortune to fall and is in Ajax Hospital with a fractured shoulder.
