Auvtumn at YMCA The fall program schedule of the Durham Region Family YMCA will be published in the Star on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 1985. Coming this fall the 'Y' will feature pro- grams such as fitness, special trips, nursery school, floor hockey, co- ed sports, and creative crafts. Grade Eight Piano Examina- tion Lisa is studying with Mrs. Doris Beaton, Oshawa. The Eric Carre family have been spending most of the summer at Thorn- bury at the cottage. Recently they spent a week at Rice Lake visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Wright and boys at their cottage. On Sunday they attended the baptism of Craig and Megan the children of Mr. and Mrs. John Gillespie of Sarnia. The baptism was held at Bridgenorth and they gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Carre following the service. The Lorne Slutes visited on Saturday even- ing with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Slute of Raglan. Euchre results for Fri- day as follows: Ladies 1st Rachel Harper, Marie Gray was 2nd and Bernice Daniels was low. Men's 1st Grant Bright, 2nd Jim Evans and low Stan Beach. Freeze-out winners were Dorothy and Delbert Catherwood, Doris Norton and Martin Gall were 2nd. There will be another euchre this Friday at 8 p.m. in the Hall. Durham Police have had numerous reports of stolen outboard motors this summer in the cot- tage country around Lake Scugog. The most recent inci- dent was the theft of a 9.9 Merc and 6 HP Evinrude from a residence in the View Lake area. Lock chains were cut to get at the motors, valued at $1500 Police are warning cot- tagers and residents not to leave motors on boats overnight.
